Microbiota

The colonies of microbes, including bacteria, fungi and viruses, living in an organism. The microbiota are ubiquitous and distinct populations can be found in different parts of the body like the skin, mouth, stomach, small and big intestines, urinary tract or genitalia. The most abundant type of microbes are bacteria.
